They also provide an opportunity for participants to meet members of other Central Michigan University authorized school boards.

A representative of The Center for Charters Schools' leadership team will lead the discussion of CMU's philosophy in chartering schools and the transformational impact that they can make on the lives of the students and families they serve. The University's role as an authorizer and its expectations of charter public school boards and board members will also be discussed.

Pacing Calendar and Unit Planning
Join administrators and teachers from the EPCR Class of 2017 in creating unit planning documents that will serve as the foundation for Rigorous Curriculum Design.

Criminal History Record Information: FBI Guidance and MI State Police Compliance Audit Process

Student Engagement Strategies - Part 3
School leaders and lead teachers are invited to participate in the third session of the three-part series (Part 1: October 24, 2014, Part 2: January 9, 2015, and Part 3: April 24, 2015) of exciting professional learning opportunities provided by the Center’s Academic Performance and Accountability Team.

Join School Performance Manager, Valerie Bailey, for the third session in the Student Engagement Strategies series.

This series is by invitation only, and participants must have attended the previous sessions.

The series is designed to assist school leaders in increasing active student
engagement in the learning process. Focused Instructional Model for Teaching Math - Three Day Workshop
Bring members of your elementary, middle and/or high school education teams and join colleagues from CMU’s portfolio of schools to this valuable, multi-day workshop.

All three sessions will be dedicated to fully understanding and implementing the Focused Instructional Model (FIM) for teaching math, and will be led by the
Institute for Excellence in Education (IEE).

IEE has worked with education teams from across the state to implement FIM
in hundreds of classrooms, and reports significant increases in math achievement.

The Governor John Engler Center for Charter Schools will host this free, three-day, workshop exclusively for education teams from CMU’s portfolio of schools.

Space is limited and seats will be assigned based on order of registration.

Everyone registering should do so with the intent of attending all three FIM sessions.

Prioritizing the Standards
Join administrators and teachers from the EPCR Class of 2017 in learning and
implementing the process for prioritizing Michigan Academic Standards.

School Performance Manager, Mandy Lohman, will guide participants through the process of prioritizing standards, distinguishing supporting standards, and
assigning standards to units of study.

This session establishes the foundation for future curriculum work related to reauthorization.

Eligible participants will receive 4 State Continuing Education Clock Hours.

Student Engagement Strategies-Part 2
School leaders and lead teachers are invited to participate in the second session of the three-part series (Part 1: October 24, 2014, Part 2: January 9, 2015, and Part 3: April 24, 2015) of exciting professional learning opportunities provided by the Center’s Academic Performance and Accountability Team.

Join School Performance Manager, Valerie Bailey, for the second session in the Student Engagement Strategies series.

This series is by invitation only, and participants must have attended the first session.

The series is designed to assist school leaders in increasing active student engagement in the learning process. The series will provide school leaders with the training and tools necessary to facilitate learning for the entire staff to generate building-wide implementation of the techniques explored during the instructor-led sessions. For this reason, attendance for the same three participants at each of the three sessions is essential.

Eligible participants will receive four State Continuing Education Clock Hours.
